The ADOS-2 is the latest version of ADOS, the gold International Standard for diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This four-day training course will bring experts in the field together in an energetic forum to help share knowledge on best practice. This is the most comprehensive training offered in the region which will provide the skills plus competence and administer ADOS for clinical practice and research.
The ADOS-2 training course includes lectures, live administrations, group discussions, a course manual, and hand-outs. Following the ADOS-2 training course, participants will be required to complete a series of post-course work. Course work will be marked and validated by the trainer to certify the level of clinical competence. A certificate will follow that will allow the trainee to conduct unsupervised clinical ADOS-2 assessments.

The ADOS is a semi-structured
assessment of communication, social interaction, and play (or imaginative use of materials) for individuals suspected of having autism or other pervasive developmental disorders.
The ADOS-2 enhances the original measure with revised algorithms for greater sensitivity and specificity, updated protocols with clearer guidelines for administration and coding ease, and a new ‘Toddler Module’ for assessments with children between 12 and 30
months who are not using simple phrases. Clinicians involved in diagnosis use the ADOS-2 to assist with accurate assessment and diagnosis of ASD across age, developmental level and language skills.
With updated protocols, revised algorithms, a new Comparison Score, and a Toddler Module, the ADOS-2 provides a highly accurate picture of current symptoms, unaffected by language. It can be used to evaluate almost anyone suspected of having ASD, from one-year-olds with no speech, to adults who are verbally fluent.[/om_agenda_item][/om_agenda_day][om_agenda_day color=”om-accent-color-2″ title=”4 Modules”][om_agenda_item icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-envelope-open”]The ADOS-2 includes four modules, each requiring just 40 to 60 minutes to administer. As you administer activities, you observe the examinee and take notes. Immediately afterward, you code the behaviors observed.
Then you use the Algorithm Form for scoring. In Modules 1 to 4, algorithm scores are compared with cut off scores to yield one of three classifications: Autism, Autism Spectrum, and Non-spectrum.
